As summer winds down, I’m excited to share some big upcoming events—lots of opportunities to connect, starting with an opening tomorrow! Please read on and plan to come by…
Tomorrow: Opening of the WMG Project Space
I’m honored to be the very first artist featured in Woman Made Gallery’s new WMG Project Space, an intimate, curated annex designed to connect visitors with artists and their practices.
Curator Rebekah Baker describes the space as:
“Existing somewhere between ‘exhibition’ and ‘studio visit’—a place where visitors are invited to gain a deeper connection and learn what, how, and why the artist makes, their inspirations, techniques, and more.”
My installation includes paintings, sketches, notes, inspiration, works-in-progress, and two videos of me sharing my process.
Opening Reception:
Saturday, August 30, 4–7pm
1332 S. Halsted, Chicago
The show runs August 30 – September 27 and the gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday. If you can’t make the opening, let me know—I’d love to meet you there another day.
At the same time, Woman Made is presenting the 8th Midwest Open, a bold group exhibition juried by Kimberly Oliva, featuring work by 33 women and nonbinary artists across the Midwest.
Next Friday: Art And the City Fundraiser
As you may know, I recently joined the board of Woman Made Gallery, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and elevating women artists. Our annual fundraiser, Art and the City, will be held:
Friday, September 5, 6–9pm
Morningstar’s beautiful offices in the Loop, 22 W. Washington Street, 7th floor and patio
This evening promises original art, performances, music, hands-on creative experiences, bites and drinks, a signature cocktail, a curated silent auction, a live blues band and DJ, and opportunities to connect with Chicago’s arts community.
Tickets: $95 for one | $160 for two
Every dollar raised helps sustain WMG’s exhibitions, programs, and opportunities for women in the arts.
We’re also looking for in-kind donations of experiences, classes, or services. If you’d like to contribute, please reach out—I’d be so grateful.
Saturday, September 13: Mural Arts Park Volunteer Opportunity!
I’ve been working with the Chicago Special Projects Group to create the North Lawndale Mural Arts Park, a one-of-a-kind public arts space opening next year. To celebrate the start of construction, we’re hosting a block party and community mural painting with muralist Everett Reynolds.
Saturday, September 13 | 10:30am–5pm
16th Street & Sawyer, North Lawndale
We need volunteers (ages 16+) for two-hour shifts throughout the day. This will be a fun community celebration with mural painting, food, music, and activities—and it’s a great way for high school students to earn service hours.

Two Recent Group Shows
I’m also thrilled to share that over the last few months I’ve had the honor of participating in two group shows. I’d like to take the opportunity to tell you about the galleries and thank the jurors for including my work!
My painting My Lisa 1: Fearless was featured in their Figures Show, an exploration of the human form. Chicago Fine Art Salon, located on the edge of Ukrainian Village, hosts curated exhibitions, private art classes, and monthly gallery events.
June: Grove Gallery
One of Evanston’s newest art galleries selected My Lisa 15: Earlier Affection to be part of their June exhibition, Portraits with Impact. Juried by Joanna Pinsky of Art Encounter and curated with Grove Gallery founder Sarah Kaiser-Amaral. This thoughtful show highlighted the power of portraiture to tell deeper stories.
